Hill House Hobart - Fantastic views close to city

Lovely stay, lovely house Positive: Great location, view, lots of room. Beautiful house. Great beds. Negative: It was very cold and the heater in the tv room didn’t work.

A great place to stay near the centre of Hobart. Positive: Spacious with exceptional views and great location close to city centre. Negative: Could not find any paper towel, chux cleaning cloth or tissues in kitchen ...or anywhere. No heating working or available in the main lounge/ t.v. room.

Excellent location and beautiful house Positive: Huge place, great character and in the best location. Walking distance to everything in the CBD. Also the VIEW! Negative: Heater in the living room didn’t work but there was a smaller one we found that worked great!

Positive: Beautiful view, clean spacious main house. Negative: Lounge heating didn't work causing the day bed room to be unusable due to the cold. The dryer didn't work. There is apartment downstairs with a noisy tenant, strong spells of cooking coming through the floor.

Expected amazing..felt let down Positive: Great views. Great room sizes. Big wide hall way. Rooms are beautifully appointed with lovely linens and overall look. Items left in pantry and fridge helping to start you off so I'd suggest checking before buying salt pepper sauces, washing powder etc. This was lovely touch. I did love the house and for our needs 4x couples all big beds it was great but there were a few things that let it down from being great in my eyes. Negative: Surprisingly enough of all the places we stayed in Hobart and Tasmania this is the one I was looking forward to most but it was also the one I felt let me down the most. Right from the start I thought the comms were intermittent /poor. The house sent me a message asking me for some information pre rental which I tried to submit and was not able to. I sent two messages through booking.com none of which were answered. On arrival towels were all in the dryer. Not a big deal but I mention it. We noted straight away that the whole frontage was off the log fire in the Dining room. There was no information about this but assumed that meant it wasn't in use. There was an electric wall panel heater in the lounge. There where no instructions about this. We spent ages trying to to get this heater going, pulling down Google brochures etc. On communication with the owners/ managers we where advised it doesn't go use the heat pumps. This is a big house, part of its charm to me.. there are 2 heat pumps one in dining room which heats it great, to replace the log fire, and one in the hall facing towards the back door and one bedroom and the master room. This means 2 bedrooms, part of the hall and the lounge have no heat source. There are electric blankets on the beds but the 2 bedrooms, lounge and half the hall were freeing. We closed the door to the lounge and didn't use that room at all. We all sat around in the evening on the dining room chairs The day bed had not been made up and it was obvious that it had been used as there where some markings on the cover and crumbs and the blankets thrown into the corner. I assume missed in the change of occupants? The oven language is in Chinese. We again tried googling and using translate on our phones to get it to work.... after we cleaned the oven tray of food from the last user but couldn't get it to go.
